This
section features suggestions for places to go in the Kelowna area where
you can "let go" and have a bit of fun. Its purpose is to encourage
your support of "local" Kelowna area events and enterprises.

The Dream Café - PentictonI know, Penticton is a bit of a stretch for a "Kelowna Area" feature and I wish I could say that there is an entertainment venue in the Kelowna area that comes close to what the Dream Café consistently has to offer, but there really isn't. Beside, it's summer and The Dream Café won't disappoint you at the end of your 45 minute drive. What
does the Dream Café have to offer? In three words; "Food,
Music
and Ambience." Add the adjective "great" in front
of those three words and you have the perfect combination necessary
for a wonderful evening. I don't think anyone in the Okanagan Valley
offers the quality, frequency and variety of musical performers
that take to the stage at the Dream Café. Visit their website

Wide Web found and described by my husband, John.
Last
month's "Let's
Go" featured Al Gore's movie; "An Inconvenient Truth,"
playing at the Paramount Theatre in downtown Kelowna and then moved to
the Grand 10 Theatre. If you've seen the movie and have not fallen (as
Al Gore states in the movie) "from ignorance into despair,"
in regards to our environment, then you will be interested in visiting
"thegreenpages.ca."
Originally started by a University of Waterloo student working out of his room, the site has developed into a major access point for Canadian environmental information. As stated on their site, it has become a "giant virtual environmental library - archiving news, events and initiatives so that we can learn from past experiences and take action for tomorrow."
