Introduction:We are pleased to present our readers with an opportunity to attend this special afternoon/evening event "Chanting the Mantras - Giving Voice to Soul," with Sequoia Henning.
Sequoia
will be teaching Group Mantra Chanting on Sunday, October 15/06
from her studio above the Marmalade Café on Pandosy Street
(#200 - 2903 Pandosy). Starting at 4:00 P.M. and ending at 8:00
P.M. the cost is $40 per person. Space is limited, so please book
early to reserve you place. The following partial excerpt from Sequoia's
Website gives background information on Mantra Chanting and
its benefit. |

Background Information:"...The word mantra is a Sanskrit word consisting of two syllables: man (mind) and tra (deliverance)...These energy-based sounds vibrate throughout the body originated from the world's oldest recorded text of scriptural sources called the Vedas...a mantra is a pure sound vibration, which delivers the mind from its form..." "...Chanting is the process of repeating a mantra...to touch the deepest level of the self. Repetitive chanting of Sanskrit Mantras connects us to a deeper frequency of vibration. Chanting aloud or silently on mantras helps one to attain an altered state of consciousness..." "...It has been medically researched and proven that chanting produces beneficial chemicals in the body releasing 'feel good' hormones and endorphins the bodies natural painkillers. Introduction:Those of you who know me, know that I am thrilled to be a grandmother. So I am proud to be able to present "The Dancers Series of Art Cards," featuring original drawings by our granddaughter Kaela Combatti.
Kaela just turned 14 this summer and drew her dancers using felts on an easel in our kitchen. My husband John provided the digital photos and computer graphics for the background.
